Perancangan Cakupan Jaringan 5G di Wilayah Semarang Barat Menggunakan Metode SU-MIMO dan MU-MIMO

Kemajuan teknologi telekomunikasi, terutama dalam jaringan seluler, terus berkembang pesat seiring dengan transformasi digital yang semakin meluas. Media sosial dan layanan internet kini menjadi bagian integral kehidupan sehari-hari, dengan jumlah pengguna internet di Indonesia diperkirakan mencapai 221 juta orang pada tahun 2024. Namun, peningkatan jumlah pengguna ini juga menimbulkan tantangan berupa meningkatnya beban jaringan seluler yang dapat memengaruhi kualitas layanan. Teknologi 5G hadir sebagai solusi dengan menawarkan berbagai keunggulan, seperti cakupan jaringan yang lebih luas, throughput tinggi, latensi rendah, dan stabilitas sinyal yang lebih baik. Penelitian ini berfokus pada perancangan cakupan jaringan 5G di wilayah Semarang Barat, yang memiliki luas sekitar 21 km², menggunakan frekuensi 2,3 GHz. Proses perancangan dilakukan melalui metode Single User Multiple Input Multiple Output (SU-MIMO) dan Multi User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) dengan pendekatan Line of Sight (LOS). Untuk simulasi, digunakan software radio planning Atoll 3.4.0 guna menganalisis parameter utama seperti SS-SINR dan SS-RSRP, yang menjadi indikator kualitas sinyal dan cakupan jaringan. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai SS-SINR untuk metode MU-MIMO adalah 3,8 dB, sedangkan untuk SU-MIMO mencapai 6,97 dB, yang keduanya termasuk dalam kategori cukup. Sementara itu, rata-rata nilai SS-RSRP pada MU-MIMO tercatat sebesar -91,42 dB, dan pada SU-MIMO sebesar -101,04 dB, menunjukkan kualitas sinyal yang tergolong baik, meskipun berada di batas bawah kategori tersebut.
