Media pembelajaran adalah alat bantu proses belajar mengajar yang dapat dipergunakan untuk merangsang pikiran, perasaan, perhatian dan kemampuan atau ketrampilan siswa sehingga dapat mendorong terjadinya proses belajar. Pelajaran Bahasa Inggris merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran yang kurang diminati dan kurang disukai oleh para siswa di sekolah. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut dengan membuat media pembelajaran yang menarik dan interaktif, sehingga para siswa disekolah akan tertarik untuk belajar karena disertai dengan tampilan multimedia dan beragam animasi yang akan membuat para siswa tidak bosan dan aktif berinteraksi dengan media pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris tersebut. Dalam penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan adalah Metode Pengembangan Aplikasi Multimedia. Menurut Luther (dalam buku Sutopo, 2003) pengembangan sistem multimedia dilakukan berdasarkan enam tahap yaitu: concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, distribution. Dari hasil penelitian ini diharapkan akan tercipta sebuah aplikasi pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris untuk siswa Sekolah Dasar Kelas 3 yang interaktif dan berbasis multimedia. Dengan demikian para siswa di sekolah akan mendapatkan media pembelajaran baru selain yang konvensional dikelas, sehingga pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris akan bervariatif dan interaktif serta menarik untuk diikuti oleh para siswa di sekolah.
