Dalam dunia bisnis saat ini, bisnis pertambangan dihadapkan pada tantangan yang besar seperti kebijakan pemerintah terhadap pembatasan ekspor, meningkatkan produktivitas dengan cara memanfaatkan produksi seefektif mungkin serta melakukan perbaikan secara berkesinambungan. Implementasi Preventive Maintenance yang dijalankan belum optimal sehingga terjadinya downtime yang cukup besar dan menurunkan kapasitas produksi. Dalam proses penambangan, ketersediaan mesin Coal Crusher akan menentukan keberlangsungan produksi yang berdampak pada produktivitas dan efisiensi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengukur nilai OEE, menentukan besarnya faktor Six Big Losses yang mempengaruhi OEE dan analisa faktor- faktor yang menjadi penyebab utama sebagai dasar untuk perbaikan. Berdasarkan hasil pegolahan data, tingkat efektifitas mesin Coal Crusher saat ini masih dibawah target yang ingin dicapai perusahaan, hasil perhitungan Six Big Losses, faktor yang memberikan pengaruh paling signifikan terhadap efektivitas mesin adalah Setup and Adjustment dan Equipment Failure. Dari analisa nilai OEE, faktor Six Big Losses dan Seventools of Quality tersebut menjadi dasar dari usulan perbaikan ke PT. MHU.
