ANALISA PENGARUH ARUS PENGELASAN SMAW PADA MATERIAL BAJA KARBON RENDAH TERHADAP KEKUATAN MATERIAL HASIL SAMBUNGAN

Pengelasan menurut DIN (Deutsche Industrie Norman) adalah ikatan metalurgi pada sambungan logam atau logam paduan yang dilaksanakan dalam keadaan lumer atau cair. Dengan kata lain, pengelasan merupakan penyambungan dua buah logam menjadi satu dilakukan dengan jalan pemanasan atau pelumeran, dimana kedua ujung logam yang akan disambung dibuat meleleh dengan busur menyala atau panas yang didapatkan dari busur nyala listrik (gas pembakar). Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pemakaian arus yang berbeda pada tiap spesimen, material yang digunakan S355JO, eletroda E7018-1 diameter 2,6mm posisi pengelasan mendaki(vertical),arus yang digunakan 70A, 75A, 80A. dalam pelaksanaan pengelasan menggunakan metode pengelasan SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Weldin). Kemudian diambil nilai impak metode Charpy pada daerah logam las dan nilai kekerasan metode Vickers didaerah logam induk, HAZ, dan logam las. Dari hasil penelitian impak metode Charpy, nilai arus pengelasan 80A lebih tinggi dari pada arus pengelasan 70A dan 75A. Sedangkan angka kekerasan arus pengelasan 70A mendapatkan kekerasan yang lebih tinggi dari arus pengelasan 75A dan 80A.
