ANALISA PENGARUH HEAT TREATMENT MATERIAL CARBIDE DRILL ROD AF1 TERHADAP KINERJA PROSES PUNCH

Proses punch adalah salah satu proses pengerjaan masal dalam pengerjaan suatu produk. Proses seperti ini bisa dikatakan cukup sederhana karena tidak memerlukan banyak kebutuhan perlengkapan dalam proses pengerjaannya. Namun dalam pengerjaanya terdapat kendala dimana kemampuan punch tool memiliki batas kemampuan dalam sekali melakukan proses. Kendala tersebut dapat dilihat dari batas maksimal tool dalam proses punch. Pada proses pengerjaan, jika pengerjaan tool melewati batas maksimal maka tool akan mengalami patah. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kinerja punch, dapat dilakukan dengan mengubah sifat mekanik material tool. Salah satu yang bisa dilakukan adalah dengan proses heat treatment. Heat treatment adalah salah satu cara yang dipakai untuk meningkatkan kekuatan material. Proses pembakaran material sampai mencapai titik kristalisasi kemudian dilakukan holding time untuk mencapai karakter yang diinginkan. Proses heat treatment material carbide drill rod AF1 dilakukan pembakaran pada suhu 8500C dan holding time selama 30 menit dan kemudian dilakukan proses quenching dengan media berupa air, udara dan oli. Setelah proses heat treatment (pembakaran) tersebut akan menghasilkan perubahan pada sifat mekanik material salah satunya adalah dengan bertambahnya nilai kekerasan. Dengan peningkatan kekerasan material dapat menghasilkan peningkatan dalam proses punch. Peningkatan kekerasan dan kinerja punch material Caride Drill Rod AF1 dengan media quenching air merupakan salah satu cara paling baik dibandingkan dengan quenching udara dan oli dalam aplikasi proses punch.
