Serat ampas tebu (baggase) merupakan limbah organik yang banyak terdapat di berbagai daerah di Indonesia. Serat ini memiliki nilai ekonomis yang cukup tinggi selain merupakan hasil limbah, serat ini juga mudah di dapat, murah , tidak membahayakan kesehatan, dapat terdegredasi secara alami (biodegradability) sehingga nantinya dengan pemanfaatan sebagai serat penguat komposit mampu mengatasi permasalahan lingkungan. Penelitian ini dilakukan agar mengetahui kekuatan serat ampas tebu sebagai pengganti komposit sintetis di mana penelitian ini melakukan percobaan variasi pada variabel susunan serat anyam, cross, dan acak dengan perbandingan volume epoxy 92 %, 88 %, 84 % dengan serat alam 8 %, 12 %, 16 % dengan melakukan pengujian uji tarik dengan standar ASTMD 638-14 dengan menggunakan pencetakan komposit metode hand lay up. Matriks yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah resin epoksi Q-bond. Hasil dari pengujian tarik serat ampas tebu untuk berat 8% yang tertinggi adalah serat cross dan acak sebesar 15,16 Mpa, untuk berat 12% yang tertinggi adalah serat cross dan acak yang memiliki nilai sebesar 18,71 Mpa, untuk serat 16% yang memiliki nilai kekuatan tarik tertinggi adalah serat anyam dan cross yang memiliki niai sebesar 21,69 Mpa. penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa dengan penambahan serat tebu mempengaruhi kekuatan tarik.
