Semiotika merupakan ilmu yang mempelajari tanda dimana didalamnya terdapat pesan dan makna yang terkandung, Melalui Teori Semiotika Arsitektur, proses identifikasi terhadap karakteristik fisik dan makna suatu bangunan akan dapat lebih mudah tersampaikan. Arsitektur Betawi sebagai salah satu budaya lokal masyarakat tentunya perlu untuk dilestarikan agar eksistensi budaya lokal tersebut tidak tergerus oleh akulturasi budaya. Dalam konteks tersebut objek yang menjadi topik kajian adalah Rumah Tradisional Betawi dikarenakan Rumah Tradisional Betawi memiliki berbagai macam elemen arsitektur yang dapat diidentifikasi lebih dalam secara fisik dan makna-nya, oleh karena itu diperlukan penerapan Ilmu Semiotika Arsitektur dalam proses identifikasi tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan tujuan untuk mendapatkan data yang mendalam terkait aspek fisik dan makna (signifier dan signified) dari arsitektur betawi melalui kajian literatur ataupun pendapat ahli / budayawan. Sedangkan untuk proses penguraian dan pembentukan elemen arsitektur pada Rumah Tradisional Betawi dilakukan melalui proses Metode Decoding dan Encoding yang berfungsi untuk memudahkan penerapan Ilmu Semiotika Arsitektur dalam memahami Rumah Tradisional Betawi. Hasil penelitian ini menghasilkan konsep-konsep arsitektural betawi dengan hasil modifikasi terhadap implementasi fisik dan maknanya, sehingga nilai betawi pada desain dapat diterapkan pada berbagai aspek dan wujud baru tanpa menghilangkan esensi makna dan fisik aslinya
