DIRECT AND INDIRECT EXPERIENCE OF NATURE PADA KAJIAN BANGUNAN KAFE DI MALANG

Desain dengan pendekatan unsur alami merupakan suatu hal yang umum telah dilakukan sejak pendahulu kita. Mulai dari desain yang mengikuti bentuk alam, penerapan arsitektur hijau hingga teknologi bangunan yang kini terintegrasi dengan unsur alam. Manusia membutuhkan alam dalam keberlangsungan hidupnya dengan tujuan meningkatkan kesejahteraan mereka. Sehingga pada penelitian ini berbekal prinsip Biofilik sebagai teori utama. Kafe adalah salah satu tempat yang kini digemari oleh sebagian besar penduduk di Malang, hal itu dibuktikan semakin pesatnya perkembangan bangunan kafe disetiap tahunnya. Nongkrong diruang terbuka dengan suasana alam adalah satu preferensi pengunjung dalam memilih kafe. Sehingga pada penelitian ini fokus pada kajian penerapan direct and indirect experience of nature (pengalaman langsung dan tak langsung akan alam) pada ketiga kafe yang telah dipilih. Menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui studi literature, obeservasi dan dokumentasi. Pada penelitian ini didapati direct experience of nature pada ketiga kafe dicapai dengan penerapan material kaca dan orientasi hadap bukaan guna memperoleh pencahayaan dan penghawaan alami, pengunaan elemen air, penataan lanskap ruang luar, penggunaan vegetasi pada interior dan antisipasi terhadap cuaca setempat. Sedangkan indirect experience of nature dicapai melalui penggunaan material alami pada elemen ruang, penggunaan warna cerah pada interior, adanya corak tumbuhan pada motif ubin dan bentuk fasad yang menyerupai pori-pori.
