ANALISIS TENSILE TEST PADA SPECIMEN S355 J2+N DENGAN STANDAR SPESIFIKASI AS 1391 PADA RAW MATERIAL CONTAINER FLAT TOP WAGON (PPCW)

Material gerbong kereta api yang digunakan sesuai dengan masing-masing fungsi dan bagiannya di kereta api. Karakteristik dan sifat material menentukan kekuatan material tersebut dalam menahan suatu beban berat dan beban tarik. Material Baja S355 J2+N adalah material yang secara khusus didesain dapat menahan kekuatan tarik yang tinggi dan bisa di las. Material ini digunakan pada bagian undeframe atau lantai pada flat container top fat wagon (PPCW) atau gerbong datar. Namun suatu logam mempunyai sifat mekanik. Sifat mekanik merupakan suatu acuan untuk melakukan proses selanjutnya terhadap suatu material, contohnya untuk dibentuk dan dilakukan proses permesinan Untuk mengetahui sifat mekanik pada suatu logam harus dilakukan pengujian terhadap logam tersebut. Salah satu pengujian yang dilakukan adalah pengujian tarik. Dari hasil pengolahan data Tesnsile Test yang telah dilakukan menggunakan standar AS 1319 pada specimen S355 J2+N ini menunjukan nilai yield strength 453 Mpa. Kemudian tegangan maksimum atau ultimate stress yang didapatkan 526,44 Mpa regangan atau elongation pada specimen mendapatkan nilai 26,71%. Pada tensile test ini menunjukkan bahwa specimen ini memiliki kekuatan tarik yang belum memenuhi standar sertifikat material sehingga hasil yang diambil specimen ini belum dapat digunakan untuk raw material pada container flat top wagon (PPCW).
