Meminimalisir Loss Time untuk Meningkatkan Kapasitas Produksi pada Proses High Pressure Die Casting di Perusahaan Sepeda Motor

Perusahaan Sepeda Motor merupakan perusahaan manufaktur dibidang otomotif yang memproduksi sepeda motor dengan jenis cub, matic, dan sport. Plant 4 Perusahaan Sepeda Motor memproduksi sepeda motor jenis matic tipe X (mesin 125 cc) dan tipe Y (mesin 110 cc). Salah satu proses manufaktur yang digunakan adalah high pressure die casting untuk membuat part left crank case. Proses ini mencakup charging, melting process, supply molten, injection process, press trimming, trimming, check visual, finishing dan quality visual. Namun, pada produksi left crank case tipe X sering mengalami kendala saat injection process ketika mengeluarkan produk dimana part menempel pada dies fix cavity, menyebabkan loss time dan penurunan produksi sebesar 7% terjadi pada produksi left crank case. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menurunkan loss time part menempel pada dies fix cavity left crank case tipe X dengan menggunakan metode eight steps dan seven tools. Analisis fishbone diagram menunjukkan penyebab utama adalah tersumbatnya cooling dies akibat kerak dan kotoran pada air cooling. Perbaikan dilakukan dengan mengganti body joint cooling galvanis dengan stainless steel, menambahkan y-strainer pada pipa input air cooling dies, dan mengusulkan pengukuran berkala pH air cooling tower.
