APLIKASI SEVEN TOOLS UNTUK MENGURANGI CACAT PRODUK PADA MESIN COMMUNITE DI PT. MASSCOM GRAPHY, SEMARANG

Implementasi Total Quality Management (TQM) tidak akan berjalan dengan baik tanpa menggunakan quality management tools yang tepat. Meskipun penggunaan dari quality management tools merupakan hal yang vital dari implementasi TQM, banyak dari perusahaan yang mengalami kesulitan dalam proses pelaksanaannya. Beberapa kesulitan yang dapat disebutkan antara lain: pelatihan yang tidak dirancang dengan baik, penggunaan quality management tools yang tidak tepat, serta tidak akuratnya proses pengukuran dan data handling. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan dengan efektif aplikasi dari seven tools sebagai salah satu quality management tools untuk mengurangi cacat pada produk yang dihasilkan oleh mesin communite. Studi kasus dilaksanakan di PT. Masscom Graphy yang berlokasi di Semarang. Persentase cacat yang tinggi dianggap sebagai salah satu penyebab berkurangnya profit perusahaan. Berdasarkan pengolahan data dengan menggunakan seven tools, didapatkan lima jenis cacat, yaitu: kertas terpotong, kertas rusak, warna pudar, cetakan kotor, dan cetakan kabur. Seven tools juga digunakan untuk memperbaiki kinerja pengendalian kualitas perusahaan serta meminimalisasi produk yang cacat.
